Stephanie Miller-Davis recently retired from a long career teaching elementary art in East Cleveland.  Having fallen in love with the ceramic medium many years ago in college, she now has more time to pursue her passion for clay.  Stephanie currently works at Clayworks Co-operative in Cleveland Heights where she has her own studio space as well as managing classes offered for both adults and children. She teaches part time at Clayworks and at The Cleveland Institute of Art.  In recent years, she has shown her work at The River Gallery, The Pentagon Gallery, and at Clayworks Gallery.

Artists Statement

Art takes many forms, and has an infinite number of out comes.

This quote hung in my classroom for many years and is now displayed in my studio.  I am totally fascinated by and committed to the medium of clay.  For a while I produced mainly sculpture, but more recently, I’ve turned to functional ware.  To use, touch, and interact with unique and beautiful handmade objects in everyday life reaffirms our humanity, life style, history and culture.
